Who we are
Youth Ballet North, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne was founded in 2023. We are a classical ballet training organisation focused primarily on pre-vocational training. We provide classes and courses for students aged 9-19 through our regular training programmes (entry via audition only) holiday intensives and various additional pop-up coaching/ training days. The aim of YBN is to provide students in the North East with high quality training to help them improve technically and artistically in a positive and supportive environment. Our Programme teachers have all trained under internationally acclaimed teacher and principal dancer Yoko Ichino. The Ichino technique helps dancers to develop healthy minds and bodies and is based on an in-depth knowledge of the scientific effects of dance on the human body. At YBN, we place a great deal of emphasis on building physical strength and working with each student to develop them at a pace that is correct for their body.
